Oh my heart 💗 Little Louis and his litter mates were a total dream while I was photographing them today, so much character in their wee 6 week old faces.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I’m out doing my job; recently I had the pleasure of capturing images of a delightful couple who have a plane as one of their resident house members. Craig and Yolande Thompson have converted one end of their planes hangar into the most exquisite accomodation, sitting amongst the stunning landscape of their magical station, this truly was a dream job…..beautiful landscape, a ride in the plane, farmlife, dogs and gorgeous people…..bliss!

A client of mine was keen for me to capture an image of her three border collies doing what they love best, one she could have produced as a large wall mural to display in her home. With her home over looking stunning Lake Hawea it wasn’t difficult to decide on the setting. Her dogs swam daily in the lake, and I knew with clear skies during the golden hours of dusk the colours of the dogs in the water would compliment the light on the mountains and the lake and the sky would mirror each other to create a tranquil, calm, beautiful scene that would give her a timeless art piece that would sit perfectly within her home.
We all know how devastating it is to loose a beloved pet, one that has been our constant companion for many years. It is true when they say "until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened" and when we say our final goodbye a part of our soul moves on to remain with our loyal and beloved friend.
I recently had the pleasure of photographing two very special pooches, both in their later years. Riley, at 16 was the elder of the two, had recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness and hadn't been given long to live. Riley's owner contacted me in the hope that I would be available to capture some portraits before Riley passed away; in times like these I do my utmost to make myself available. We had a wonderful session with Riley and his big little sister Bella creating images that their family will treasure forever.
Gorgeous wee Riley passed away three days after I captured these portraits, this is a imminent reminder of how important it is to have portraits captured of our beloved pets before they depart our world; we all wish they could be with us forever but the incredibly sad truth is that they won't be. Riley's owners acted fast and can now be reminded every time they view the portraits that now grace their walls, of the precious love and devotion Riley brought into their lives, a small token to the enormous hole that is now in their hearts. RIP Riley 💔
I am privileged to have had the opportunity to photograph so many amazing, inspirational, talented, genuine, beautiful and courageous women over the years. I am grateful for the stories they have told me, the friendship they have given me and the gifts they have fed my soul; women are wonderful and I am very proud to be one 💕
Happy International Womens Day to all the incredible women out there and to all our beautiful daughters that will grow under the guidance we give them.
